♡ Week Six ♡ ~ Perseverance pays off!

Hey Lovelies,

I somehow managed to confuse myself for my last weigh-in post. I wrongly titled it week three and four, yet had the correct content, which said week four and five! Way to confuse myself!

I might just do a re-cap, mainly for my own benefit:

Le Ultimate Goal= lose 14.2 kilos

Initial weigh-in 16th Jan: (start) 14.2kgs to go
Week One 23rd Jan: (3kg) 11.2kgs to go
Week Two 30th Jan: (1.1kgs) 10.1kgs to go
Week Three 6th Feb: (1.1kgs) 9kgs to go
Week Four 13th Feb:  (0.7kgs) 8.3 kgs to go
Week Five 20th Feb: + 0.5kgs (arghhhh!) 8.8 kgs to go

Ahh, hoorah for cohesiveness!

So, yes, in the past 2 weeks, I have felt like I was going at a snails’ pace… and that is N.O fun!

Luckily this week caught me back up a bit, or I was going to have to change my tactics!!

So without further ado, I bring you my sixth week weigh in results…

2.1 kgs

Leaving 6.7kilos to go. Eeek, still a way to go. Boo and then hiss!! I am feeling good though, thankfully.

I finally washed my hair yesterday and while it was quite easy being short and all, it was also like 32degrees and I saw little point in blow drying it, so I thought I'd tempt fate and let my hair dry on its' own (albeit with some product), well it wasn't all that crash hot, and I did in fact take my Vidal Sasson Big Hair styler to it, once the temp cooled down a little.

Fast forward to this morning and the lovely Melbourne Deluge that rained down upon us, I was literally like a drenched rat AND I totally ruined my favourite umbrella!!!! Damn you gale force winds *sad crying face + pouty face too*

Ruining my brolly means I have to go to back to one of my newest favouritiest shoppes in the Name of All That is Cute, Duchess! at either Melbourne Central  or Footscray, (mate). But what to do in regards to being rain proof, until then??! That. I do not know! Eeek. I could still use my brolly, I 'spose. It's not totally wrecked, just a little bent out of shape!

I had a little date night with the BF last night. We saw The Grey at the Glen. I didn't mind the movie, it had some scary moments- one of which I nearly left some 'Help! I'm Terrified' claw nail marks on my BF. Ooops! Was not a fan of the ending though.

Ciao for now!!

Howdy 'do

Meet my new 'do... (geddit? Howdy 'do??!)

As per my post on Wednesday, I did indeed get my hair cut and the colour changed.

As soon as I sat in the chair, my hair dresser Crystal asked 'full head of foils?' I quickly blurted out that I wanted to go Caramel and cut my hair into a long bob before I could change my mind. She was quite surprised. I think she'd forgotten that I was considering changing my hairstyle at my last appointment.

But, yeh... We looked over colour charts and I showed her some images I have saved on my iPhone.... And Voila a completely new 'do!

To be honest I wasn't completely happy when I first saw the colour... But Crystal assured me that the lighting in the salon is quite harsh. Phew! I even sent a message to the BF stating "I don't think I like it."

As I also mentioned, I swayed the BF to come pick me up, so I went across the road to a hotel to wait for him... And of course squeezed in a mini photo session in the bathroom! He rang just before I went to take this shot to say he was there, so I had to be quick, hence the weird 'hurry up' look on my face.

We went and saw Shame at Southland. It's an R rated movie about a sex addict. I don't know how I felt about the movie. I really don't.

Anyway, I have come to terms with my new 'do now... And maybe it isn't such a big deal after all. I mean not one person noticed at work! Not one (not until I told them, at least). What the?!

This was my old hair;
Being a slouch on the couch in my pink fluffy robe!
A decent amount was lobbed off... I can’t believe no one at work noticed! I guess I do wear my hair up a lot, but still (whinge, whinge)

Meanwhile, my BF is calling me his Caramel Cookie now, nawwwwwww, I like it.

Ohhh and contrary to what Crystal mentioned last time... My hair was so not cheaper!! Sweet Junipers! Hopefully it will be cheaper next time. She put some foils in my hair as well, not sure if that's a necessary regular thing.

I also bought a bunch of hair products. Pics to come! My hair has gone crazy curly...

♡ other random updates ♡ and help with hair needed!!

I did in fact get brow-wowed. They are thinner this time, I guess I didn’t vocalise what I wanted enough. I didn’t have to wait as long as the last time, which was nice. I made it to Myer Melbourne from Chapel Street in half an hour on Public Transport during peak hour! Impressed? I am. What I wasn’t impressed about was the Sales Assistant who touched up my brow area, after the wax and her over-the-top-eager to sell manner. I merely asked what it was the she was putting on me, it was a pressed powder but before she even answered she asked if she should put it on my bill? Um, no. Firstly it was the wrong colour and secondly, it was the wrong colour. She couldn’t even match my colour right! I was like heck no am I trusting you to help me. Way too eager to just get me to buy it… Maybe actually try and sell me something I would want. The brow artist (yes) was super nice and my brows do look nice, I think/hope.

Please excuse that rogue hair (from my head that is, there's plenty of brow rogues there!)

Sorry for the shoddy shot, but I took this at the Benefit Counter.

Meet Shirley and Help me with my hair, pleeease!!

Milkshake Sugar Frosting... Update

Hi!

I just wanted to do a little update about Milkshake Sugar Frosting that I received last Thursday after workies, as I predicted.

I had somewhat of a busy weekend and didn't get a chance to really give it a good test drive, but my initial thoughts are: expensive dry shampoo, that doesn't do much besides add a sweet scent.

Hopefully my first impressions are proved wrong.

Like I said in my initial post, the rootage aspect of my hair is pretty impressive at the mo', so it is fair to say that the Milkshake Sugar Frosting had its' work cut out, but I really didn't see any concealment of my dark roots at all. Perhaps the powder is more suitable to blondes whose roots aren't as dark as mine- not that mine are actually that dark. I am probably a medium brown.

I will say that the scent is delicious... My hair smelt like an edible sweet vanilla cupcake! Even my BF noticed and commented! Application is also easy- though I am unsure how much product to actually use. It just says "a little goes a long way" and that is all as far as directions go! I sprinkled it quite tentatively onto my roots and used the little brush to spread it through- didn't notice much of a change, maybe a slight duller look of my dark roots but the scent is quite strong but not over-powering in any way at all. I didn't pay full RRP for the product, so if it turns out to be a fancy smelling dry shampoo type-of-thing I won't be too disappointed, but the prospect of being able to cover regrowth is very appealing. I want this product to work!

I don't wash my hair too often- twice a week maximum, so I want to give this stuff another try right after I have washed it and see if I notice any root concealment! I am due to wash my hair tonight... whether or not that will actually happen, is in question. LOL/ew. If I manage to, I will totes update, with photos!

Wishing you all a Sweet Day!

Milkshake Sugar Frosting...

Huh? What was that?? A dessert?? Why would I mention something so deliciously tempting when I am on a quest to change my lifestyle??

No, no, sillies...

Milkshake Sugar Frosting isn't some sort of delicious dessert drink; it's for your hair... obviously!

Apparently, it can help conceal regrowth between salon visits (including greys, if needed), and also doubles as a dry shampoo, absorbing oil and making your hair smell yummy and sweet... Oh and it comes in this adorable little tin!

Major Bonus: AUSTRALIAN MADE!

RRP is AU$60 and a tin will last around 168 applications (why so specific? haha), with each application lasting between 8 and 20 hours*

Used daily, the tin should last you for 6months, but you wouldn't need it every day now, would you? Hopefully roots won't need concealing just after you've just been to the hair dressers or sometime afterwards, for that matter!

I stumbled across this stuff quite some time ago, but I only purchased it yesterday (on a whim, which is weird, considering I had been umm'ing and ahh'ing for donkey's years) and it should be at my PO Box when I go by after workies. And the timing couldn't be more perfect because...

I am between salon visits
My regrowth has been getting me down of late, and making me consider ditching the blonde locks
I am attending a Funeral on Monday and I don't want to go with gross looking hair!

I got Vanilla Cupcake Blonde, but there is a powder to suit most hair colours; Milk Chocolate Brunette, Raspberry Creme Redhead and Boysenberry Black.

I will let you guys know how I go... AND I will post some piccys too. My rootage is so bad at the mo', it's the perfect time to see if this delicious product can live up to its' claims! And after researching online, I couldn't find any pictures to show what the product can do, so I will be posting my results; good or bad.

"Milkshakes Sugar Frosting is a chic easy-to-apply luxurious mineral based hair powder that conceals re-growth including greys and absorbs excess oil whilst helping to keep hair healthy, manageable and revitalised. Naturally preserved and completely free of dyes, alcohol and artificial colours. Milkshake's fabulous formulas are infused with yummy smells. Ideal for use between salon visits, one application of Milkshake's unique formula can last for up to 20 hours."

Sounds good to me!

*apparently there is less product in the pack for blondes! 4 month supply instead of 6.
